This project was born out of a deep-rooted passion for sound culture. While not a 100% laboratory-grade scientific study, the methodology I’ve developed allows for capturing the distinct "sound signature" of various monitors across both pro-audio and consumer segments.
To ensure a fair comparison, every unit is treated with the exact sameness: the same audio reference, the same Soundman OKM II binaural microphone, the same studio environment, and identical positioning. All recordings are raw and unprocessed, integrated to a common loudness of -14 LUFS.
This database is a labor of love and will be steadily expanded. Each monitor listed has been battle-tested in my daily workflow to evaluate speed of use, decision-making clarity, and translation.
